Take Action About the Budget Now

On March 2nd, 2021, LA City Council voted on Reinvestment of $32 million Funds from the Police Department to Impacted Communities (CF 20-0600-S83). However, $56 million remains unallocated and City Council must determine how to distribute it before March 5th.

On February 28th, 2021 Black Lives Matter LA sent a letter to Council President Martinez requesting that remaining $56 million be designated to Black-led organizations and that resources prioritize Black Angelenos.

Email your council member now to tell them to instruct the CAO to adopt BLM’s recommendations outlined in Black Lives Matter LA’s letter about the remaining police department budget that needs to be allocated before March 5th, 2021.
